The end of garage sale season? Perhaps!

So the day was a bit frosty - yet there were a few garage sales to be found. I did run into a few diehards. Thankfully! :) So here are my finds today!

We all know how useful icecube trays are!

Our favorite story!

Puzzle and book combined!

Lots of books n' videos!

All the above $3

Hot glue gun and a much needed door stop for my classroom door! $3

2 oversized wooden puzzles!

Wooden block set!

Love Caillou!

More books!

And the endearing Clifford!

Wooden box - love the graphics!

All the above $5

The topper - arrow heads found in my neighbourhood! We live in an area where indians once lived. A neighbour dug these up - 50 cents!

I also got a large plastic bin with a drain hole that I want to make into a watertable for outside - when I get to making it I will post pictures!

Dragon mask

Here is a Chinese Daragon mask that I have made for our Winter Concert. I still need to make the body and under side of the mask to cover the dancers bodies - but so far so good - I think! :)

You can go over to Facebook for the entire process in pictures!

If you have any pictures of costumes you have made please share them with us!

O Canada!

Each day we start our day off with the calendar and O Canada. I think that it is important for children to embrace their country with respect - and that starts at a very young age. I talk about how we stand tall during the anthem and that we should be proud of our beautiful country. Of course my toddler class is very young and may not quite understand what I am talking about, but they do follow the tradition of showing respect in the manner described.

The child chosen to hold the flag each day is decided by the child who demonstrates the most respect during the calendar time. If they have participated and paid attention during that time, they have shown they are respectful enough to hold the flag!

It's Saturday - that means Garage Sale finds!

Well each time I go out to the garage sales I really have no expectation to get something awesome - but I do! :) This has been a block buster summer! Unfortunately I think they are all done - unless next week is super sunny and warm!
Here are today's finds!

Great puzzles - FREE

I thought I could use this for the kids to put large beads on and practice sequencing. 50 cents

I love wooden toys! I got this with lots of books and instruments for $2.

Great cultural books and CD's - the books today may have cost me $2 tops!

25 cents

Adding this to my instrument collection!

20 cents

Purchased with the books! What a find I love this!

Free - needs steaming!

For another teacher - 25 cents

OK all pretty common - but here is the topper!!

Three - yes three puzzles shelves - each holds 12 - $20 for all!
These retail for $60 to $80!

(Note - my full storage cupboard behind! It's a tad full of my great finds.) LOL

Pony riding

So the pony finally made it to school and here are the children enjoying it! Some entered the room with hesitation and some move right over to the pony to explore and greet it!

The Greeting!

The first ride!

We all take a turn!

The pony got hungry!

... and needed a drink!

There sure were lots of smiles all around!

This was not simply about riding a robtic pony - it was about providing experiences.
